| DUPR Reset Period |

— Rating Guidelines —

During the DUPR Reset Period, players are given an opportunity to establish a more accurate rating based on recent match results.

To ensure this process works correctly, rating ranges must be respected, with a limited and intentional crossover between adjacent levels only.

🔥 DUPR Reset Period (Up to 3.54) 🔥
ALL GAMES are RECORDED with |DUPR

This is your chance to reset, rebuild, and prove your level.

Open to players rated 2.xx up to 3.54, this period focuses on fair matchups, competitive games, and accurate ratings.
Expect slightly expanded play opportunities within range—but no jumping into higher-level events.

If your |DUPR doesn’t reflect your game… now’s the time to fix it.

PLAYCOMPETEEARN YOUR RATING.

Not every player needs to participate in the |DUPR Reset Period — and that’s perfectly okay. The Reset Period is designed for players who feel their current rating doesn’t reflect their true level and want a fresh set of results to prove it. If you’re happy with where you’re at, or just looking to enjoy the game, you can absolutely continue playing in |DUPR Reset Period without opting into the Reset. You’ll still get great matches and competitive games and all the games are still recorded with |DUPR— just without the added focus on recalibrating your rating. In other words, you can keep showing up, playing good pickleball, and having fun… no reset signup with |DUPR required.

WHY THIS STRUCTURE EXISTS

This limited overlap allows ratings to adjust naturally and fairly. This creates a balanced environment where players can prove their level through competitive play.

WHERE THE CROSSOVER ENDS

This flexibility does not extend beyond adjacent levels. As the gap between ratings increases, matches become less competitive and results become less meaningful.

PROTECTING COMPETITIVE INTEGRITY
THOSE WHO DO NOT PARTICIPATE IN DUPR Reset Period

Maintaining proper rating ranges is essential to:

  • Ensure fair and competitive matches
  • Produce accurate |DUPR ratings
  • Preserve the quality and credibility of events

When players compete too far outside their rating level:

  • Matches become unbalanced
  • Ratings can be negatively impacted
  • Higher-level players are less likely to participate

BURLINGTON PiCKLEBALL APPROACH

We are committed to maintaining a structured environment where:

  • Players compete within appropriate rating ranges
  • Match results reflect true skill levels
  • Events remain competitive and enjoyable for all participants

KEY TAKEAWAY

The DUPR Reset Period is designed to allow small, controlled crossover between adjacent levels — not unrestricted play across all ratings.
