Week 2 of the Monday Intermediate League brought another dose of friendly competition, doubles action, and Monday night fun!

With the opening-week jitters out of the way, it was time to settle in, find that rhythm with partners, and put those good intentions into practice. The focus was on communicating early, staying ready between shots, and remembering that sometimes the smartest shot does more damage than the hardest one.

Coach Paul’s reminder: keep those feet moving—your perfect court position isn’t going to come looking for you! And calling “mine” is a commitment, not the start of a negotiation.

Beyond the scores, these early weeks are about building confidence, learning from each match, and becoming the partner you’d want on your side of the court.

Encourage each other, shake off the missed shots, and make the other team earn that next point. If the last shot didn’t go to plan, take a breath and reset—there’s no need to carry it around for the rest of the evening; you’ve already got enough in your bag!

Two weeks in, we’re just getting warmed up. Let’s bring that energy, teamwork, and willingness to learn into Week 3!
